Adjusting the BIA setting descriptions 

The BIA settings rating criteria relate to "criticality levels"; "impact ratings" and "dependency levels" and are located across the foot of the BIA set up screen. This screen appears as follows:

 

Criticality rating values
This area shows the system-wide ratings for criticality. There are five criticality ratings with the highest being "Vital" and the lowest "Minimal".  Criticality ratings are applied to products, services and other critical objectives, processes& activities or assets and resources.  These ratings are used to determine relative levels of importance and also for priority setting for upgrades to risk treatments and other resilience improvements.

1.   Vital
2.   Significant
3.   Important
4.   Moderate
5.   Minimal

These criticality setting descriptions are customizable by the User in the BIA Setup area.

Impact rating values
This area shows the system-wide ratings for BIA impact. BIA impact ratings are used to record the level of impact that a particular incident or disruption could have on the organization. There are six BIA impact ratings with the highest being "Disastrous" and the lowest "No impact". 

1.   Disastrous
2.   Very serious
3.   Serious
4.   Not serious
5.   Negligible
6.   No impact

These BIA impact setting descriptions are customizable by the User in the BIA Setup area.

Dependency rating values
This area shows the system-wide ratings for dependencies. Dependency ratings are used when mapping processes to products, services and other critical objectives and also when mapping assets and resources to processes. There are five dependency ratings with the highest being "Very high" and the lowest "Very low".  The dependency rating descriptions are customizable by the User.

1.   Very high
2.   High
3.   Med
4.   Low
5.   Very low

These BIA dependency rating descriptions are customizable by the User in the BIA Setup area.
