Selecting suitable impact categories

Carrying out a business impact assessment for the selected product, service or other critical objective is done in this section. The User chooses up to five impact categories for the currently selected product, service or critical objective.

 

The User then assesses the expected likely impact in each of the pre-set time periods arising from an unexpected interruption to the selected product, service or other critical objective.  Using the radio buttons, the User can select to display the five time periods in either hours (hrs) or days. The default setting is "hrs". The User can change the impact categories and the impact time periods, on a system-wide basis in the "BIA set up" area to customize the BIA settings to fit the needs of their own organization. 

Assessment of the impact values for each impact category in each time period is explained in the next section.
