Managing the BCMS process 

Module 1 contains information on key OR management processes. These include BCMS scope; BCMS policy; BCMS management commitment;  BCMS documentation: and BCMS objectives & targets.  The BC management section is used to record management decisions and evidence of management commitment towards the BCMS process.  Consideration is also given in this section to risk management concepts and the internal and external environment within which the organization operates.

When Module 1 is selected the top navigation bar looks like the following image:

When module 1 is selected, the following main screen is displayed.




The two list boxes on the main screen contain key OR Management topics and related sub-topics. The OR Management topic list box is delivered pre-populated with a list of suggested topics relevant for achieving conformance against the BS 25999. The suggested topics are included for guidance only.

The following additional functions are available in this module:


 Comments

A comments area is included for each sub-topic and the User can use this area to develop and plan activities that are required to achieve conformity for each sub-topic.

 Assigning responsibility

Primary and secondary responsibility for each BCMS topic can be assigned in this pop-up


 DocLinks

External documents can be attached to each module. These facilities are available whenever this icon is present.

 Management review

A review area is provided for a management review of this Module. This review is at overall Module level only, not at topic level.

 Internal audit

An audit area is provided for an internal audit of this Module. This review is at overall Module level only, not at topic level.

 Transaction audit log

All data entries in this module are captured by the BCMS data entry log. This provides a full audit trail for all changes and amendments.
