BC Management topic & sub-topics

Setting up the OR management topics

The BC management topics define the areas where management decisions and management commitment are to be recorded.  The risk management framework is a key topic to be included in this section.  On opening module 1 the following screen appears:

The two list boxes on the main screen contain the BC Management topics and the BC Management sub-topics respectively.  The BC Management topic list box is pre-populated with a list of suggested topics required for achieving conformance against the BS 25999 but the User can remove or replace any topic if the organization considers it appropriate to do so. The suggested topics are included for guidance only. In each of the two list boxes you can add (+); delete (-); and edit the contents. An area is provided for recording a descriptive statement regarding each sub-topic. This area is located on the right side of the screen.

Add a new management topic

Clicking the "+" button at the foot of the list box opens up a pop-up window that allows the User to add a new OR management topic and assign sequence numbers for the list box.

In the pop-up window enter the new BC management topic name, and click the "Save" button.  The list of BC management topics will be immediately updated.

Great care should be exercised when deleting records in the BCMS as this action is not reversible and any related data may be lost. It is advisable to ensure the data files have been backed up before permanently deleting records.
