Overwrite BIA values

Overwriting the system calculated BIA values

Clicking the BIA button in Module 4 displays the following information:

This area displays the calculated RTO, MTPD and criticality values for the selected key process or activity and allows the overwriting of these BIA values. It also provides access to a validation screen that enables the User to view and validate the calculated BIA values. An "O" appears in the main list box where there is an overwrite value against a particular record. To validate the calculated BIA values click on the validate button after clicking the BIA icon below

The RTO, MTPD and criticality values for the selected key processes or activity are calculated based on the system-wide BIA settings and the impact ratings assigned by the User to the mapped product, service or other critical objective. The BIA values are derived from this impact analysis process that measures the consequences of an interruption to the mapped products, services or other critical objectives and the dependency ratings for those mapped relationships. These calculated values are then transferred to the selected process or activity through the mapping process and dependency function.

If any of the calculated RTO, MTPD or criticality values for the selected key process or activity are not considered to be suitable, the User can overwrite these values. To overwrite a particular value, click in the relevant tick box, click the dropdown arrow that appears, and select the required overwrite value. To remove an overwrite value simply untick the tick box.

To display the RTO, MTPD or criticality calculations for the selected key process or activity, click the "Validate" button. The calculations may then be validated in the pop-up screen that appears. Further information on the validation process can be accessed by clicking on the "?" in the mapped component area.
